Premier-Magnesia - Model PREVent-C -Concrete Admixture
The patented PREVent-C® technology by the Construction Products Group (CPG) of Premier Magnesia is a shrinkage-reducing and crack-control concrete admixture. It is a specially formulated powder that provides dual functionality to prevent cracking or curling caused by shrinkage. Shrinkage-induced cracking may be reduced by as much as 90%, depending on mix design and amount of PREVent-C utilized.
PREVent-C can be used in all types of concretes and mortars, whether cast-in-place, mass, precast or pre-stressed, and can be used in straight Portland cement mixes or blended cement mixes. It reduces autogenous shrinkage to minimize water and salt infiltration, decreases curling and related cracks, reduces compressive creep, and improves durability.
The use of PREVent-C in a variety of applications has shown to reduce repair and maintenance time and costs, as well as increase life expectancy and perceived value of structures. Its uses include dams, wastewater treatment plants, bridge decks, shotcrete, pools and marine structures, secondary containment, and airport.
