The Conder ECO is a GRP single tank sewage system. It comprises of a primary settlement tank (PST) and a biological coco husk based treatment / filtration chamber. The effluent flows through by gravity alone.
Solids are settled out in the PST to reduce the load requiring biological treatment. The settled effluent then flows through to the Filtration Chamber (FC) which contains a bed of transformed coco husk material that provides a stable and open textured filtration material.
The settled effluent is distributed over the filter by a tipping tray mechanism which evenly distributes the pollutants over the bed. Bacteria and micro-organisms grow within the filtration bed and digest the pollutants.
The final effluent then flows out of the outlet at the bottom of the tank and to the drainfield or watercourse.
The air required for the process is provided by a patented ventilation system which does not require tall ventilation pipes.

The Conder ECO requires an annual service by a British Water Accredited Sewage Treatment Plant Service Engineer in order to perform correctly. Plants that are not serviced will pollute.
The settlement tank should be emptied every 1 to 3 years, depending on the number of people using the system.
