Cohu Eclipse - Configurable OSAT Friendly Pick-and-Place Handler for Semiconductor Testing
The Eclipse is a versatile and high-speed pick-and-place handler engineered to test a broad spectrum of semiconductors, from analog integrated circuits to advanced CPUs and mobile processors. This handler is capable of testing up to 16 ICs simultaneously across a temperature range of -55°C to +155°C, achieving a throughput of up to 12,000 units per hour. It is particularly well-suited for subcontractors in high-mix production environments, enabling them to optimize their existing device kit infrastructure. Enhancing its functionality, the Eclipse incorporates Cohu’s proprietary T-Core thermal controller, offering precise temperature management crucial for high power dissipative ICs, catering to challenging applications such as APUs, CPUs, and GPUs. Additionally, the NV-Core technology enhances inspection and metrology capabilities. The Eclipse's XTA configuration integrates well with factory automation systems, supporting autonomous guided vehicles, thereby boosting efficiency. Designed for adaptability, it handles varying package sizes and excels in environments demanding agility and precision.
Eclipse™ test handler delivers scalable performance for testing a wide range of semiconductors, from analog ICs to high-performance CPUs and mobile processors. The Eclipse is a high-speed pick-and-place handler designed to test up to 16 Integrated Circuits (ICs) in parallel, at temperatures from -55°C to +155°C*, with throughput up to 12,000 UPH.
Scalable Solution for Testing Standard ICs and Processors
The Eclipse test handler is designed to satisfy high-mix production requirements of test subcontractors, allowing them to leverage their existing device kit infrastructure while utilizing Cohu’s high performance thermal technology for testing mid to high power processors. Featuring Cohu’s proprietary T-Core thermal controller and a variety of cooling options to provide precise, multi-site temperature management of power dissipative ICs. By enabling higher power dissipation, customers can maximize yield by utilizing Cohu’s T-Core Thermal Controller. With T-Core, customers can manage the most challenging thermal applications from APUs to CPUs to GPUs to server and AI devices. The Eclipse also features NV-Core advanced inspection and metrology technologies.
The Eclipse XTA configuration brings a factory automation interface to the handler allowing for the customers to interface with a smart factory through the use of autonomous guided vehicles (AGV) or overhead transports (OHT), allowing them to be more efficient. The front-end tray automation provides a new level of performance and capabilities to fuel sales and market position. In production, the XTA fleet’s performance is above the goal set by customers. It boasts more than 28,000 mean cycles between jams (MCBJ) while testing 3×3 millimeter devices.
