Connex - Cast-Iron Pipe Junction System
The CONNEX Cast-Iron Pipe Junction System is suitable for binding sewer connection pipes into main sewer pipes made of cast iron, which are usually provided with a cement mortar lining for reasons of corrosion protection. When tapping lined cast iron pipes, the rather brittle cement mortar lining tends to spall at the drill edges. With the CONNEX Cast-Iron Pipe Junction System, the connection technology of the proven CONNEX-Junction and a newly developed lower seal, as well as the use of the 2-C sealant compound, make it possible to produce a tight sewer connection despite possible minor spalling of the mortar when drilling into the main sewer pipe.
The connection is available in DN/OD 160 and DN/OD 200 and can be used for main sewer pipes in nominal connection DN 300 to DN 1500. The CONNEX Cast-Iron Pipe Junction System consists of an upper section with ball joint, a threaded ring nut, a spacer equipped with a seal and a lower section also equipped with a seal. The latter is coloured red so that the product can be clearly identified during a camera inspection. This connection is also provided with a seal optimised for the application, which adapts positively to the drilled reveal in the main sewer pipe when installed professionally. The seal prevents the 2-C sealant from leaking on the inside of the cast pipe. Slight cement mortar spalling at the edge of the drill hole is covered.
