LabTek - Model SUN-SL-001 -Consolidation Test Apparatus for Anisotropic Triaxial Tests
The LabTek Consolidation Test Apparatus is engineered to optimize the efficiency of triaxial tests by allowing the simultaneous consolidation of three specimens at different conditions, specifically CU and CD tests in anisotropic environments. It comprises a robust steel bench outfitted with three load frames and centering platens, enabling compatibility with triaxial cells for specimens ranging from 35 to 100 mm in diameter. Additional adaptability is supported through its ability to accommodate triaxial cells from other manufacturers that include a centering hole of specified dimensions. This apparatus allows for weight adjustments with beam loading devices to minimize the need for dead weights, contributing to a streamlined testing process. The design reduces the weights of the loading frames to obviate the need for a counterbalance. Ideal for civil engineering applications, it can be coupled with axial displacement gauges, beam loading devices, and slotted weights for comprehensive testing capabilities.
The apparatus has been designed to reduce the testing time for triaxial tests, where only one compression machine is available. With this equipment it is possible to perform the consolidation stage of three triaxial specimens at the same time for CU and CD tests in anisotropic conditions.
The apparatus consists of a steel bench complete with three load frames and centering platens, for all our triaxial cells for specimens 35 to 100 mm dia. It can also be used for other make of triaxial cells, provided that they are equipped with a centering hole 13 mm dia. x 3 mm deep. Each consolidation frame can be equipped with a beam loading device to reduce the number of dead weights required for anisotropic consolidation (see accessories).
Weights can be placed on both the centre hanger and on the lever hanger. The weights of the loading frames have been reduced to minimum so that a counterbalance of the frame is not required. The apparatus has to be completed with the axial displacement gauges or transducers, Beam loading device(s) and Slotted weights. See accessories.

Set of weights to give a pressure of 10 kg/cm. sq. on 60 mm dia specimen, comprising: 7 Nos. 0.05 kg/sq.cm, 5 Nos. 0.1 kg/sq.cm., 6 Nos. 0.2 kg/sq.cm., 6 Nos. 0.5 kg/sq.cm., and 5 Nos. 1.0 kg/sq.cm. Supplied complete as above but with dial gauge.
