Carbolite - Continuous Heat Treatment for Rotating Tube Furnace
Single and multi-lane strand furnaces: Carbolite Gero can supply units to process a single strand. However, for cost efficient production furnaces with up to eight lanes are offered as standard and additional lanes can be added (up to a maximum of 22). The furnace length is determined by the throughput requirement. The strand passes through Inconel or ceramic tubes and, where required, under the appropriate atmosphere and water cooling (for controlled hardening). A burn-off flame on each tube ensures complete combustion of exhaust gases. Long life wire heating elements are wound around ceramic tubes and are located in both furnace halves. Individually controlled zones provide excellent temperature uniformity which is especially important when heating long lengths.
The single zone and 3-zone split tube furnaces have a maximum operating temperature of 1150 °C. All models are available with heated lengths of either 600 mm or 900 mm. The angle of inclination can be easily adjusted between horizontal and 10°. The ceramic (IAP) work tube has an inner diameter of 75 mm. A safety switch automatically prevents heating and tube rotation when the furnace is opened.
It is essential to discuss your application with Carbolite Gero to ensure the suitability of the material for use in this equipment. Carbolite Gero cannot accept responsibility for your process due to the possibility of the material becoming sticky when heated and therefore not flow through the work tube.
Rotating tube furnaces up to 1500°C
Based on silicon carbide heating elements rotating tube furnace up to 1500°C working temperature are available on request. Only suitable for use with RCA work tubes
Various feeder systems
Carbolite Gero offers heavy duty feeder systems for production applications. Vibration hoppers and screw feeders are available.
Multi zone design
Carbolite Gero rotating tube furnaces provide a high level of temperature uniformity. For applications that require a specific temperature uniformity Carbolite Gero offers multi zone designs.
Inert gas heat treatment
Rotating tube furnaces can be equipped with an inert gas control or even reactive gas control on request. Vacuum is not available for rotating tube furnaces.
