FARAD - COPT Condensers
The COPT (Cargo Oil Pump Turbine) condenser, condenses steam under vacuum. It is used to condense low pressure steam before it enters the boiler feed pump. Twin jet ejectors for creating the vacuum, as well as the jet ejector condenser are also supplied. Steam ejectors are used to eject air form Condenser and maintain a vacuum inside. Seawater is used as the coolant fluid.

Materials
Materials are sourced from reputable EU manufacturers and material thickness is higher than that required by the relevant design code. The heat exchanger is designed to have a long service life. Tubes material available as CuNi 90/10 and Aluminum Brass. Tube sheet available as Naval Brass or CuNi 90/10.
Design
The condenser is sized according to industry standard. Each heat exchanger is made to order with an optimized thermal and mechanical design.
Accessories
Vacuum is maintained by steam jet ejectors fitted on the side. Two jet ejectors are fitted for redundancy. The jet ejector steam condenser is also fitted on the side of the main condenser. Other accessories and connections as following:
- Air vent and drain valves
- Compound gauges
- Temperature gauges and sensors
- Water level gauges with root valve
- 3-way level control valve with level controller
- High and low level alarm contact
- Steam trap
- Press switch for exhaust steam vacuum high and dumping valve interlocking
- Plastic inserts for tube protection
- Chemical cleaning, soda hoper and boiling steam connections
- Other as per customers’ requirements.
Approvals
Third party approval based on customer requirement. All marine classification society approvals may be given.
