Counter-Current Packed Tower Scrubbers

Packed bed scrubbers offer the unique combination of high efficiency and low cost, and are often the best choice for applications such as odor control, NOx and SOx reduction and acid gas removal. Both horizontal and vertical designs are available. When site conditions allow, a vertical, counter-current design is often preferred as it significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination and breakthrough. Reductions are uniform across the gas flow. Also, maximum efficiencies are realized as the most active scrubbing liquor is brought into contact with the gas stream just prior to the scrubber outlet. Taking into account specific factors such as flow rates, gas composition, residence time, reagent feed rates, corrosion resistance and waste stream treatment capability, each application is custom designed to your specific requirements.
