Cranston - Bale and Unitizing Wire
Strength – Water resistant – Recyclability – wire’s round cross section and uniform flexibility has made it the traditional media for wood pulp retention for several decades. All Cranston wire (on shore or off shore) is manufactured in compliance to Cranston’s CS003 wire specifications and in addition, Unitizing grade wire is recommended for top attachment lifting per specification CS001. Target coil weight is 815kg (1800#) and Cranston offers the choice of shipment with or without the use of typical returnable wire stands.

Although a wide range of diameters and tensile strengths are available for virtually all applications, Cranston recommends the following standards for use with wood pulp:
- Sheeted dry bales: 1.8mm /15awg diameter with a tensile range of 880 – 1127 N/mm2 /130- 160000 psi.
- Large wet pulp bales: 2.2mm/13.5awg diameter with a tensile range of 880 – 1127 N/mm2 /130- 160000 psi.
- Stacks and Units: 3mm/11awg diameter with a tensile range of 1000 – 1175 N/mm2 /145- 170,000 psi.
