LT-STM

Since 2000, the low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope (LT-STM) is an essential part of CreaTec`s product range. In addition to its nanoanalytical capabilities it allows the precise manipulation of atoms and molecules at temperatures from 4 to 300K.

Starting with our proven beetle-type STM with highest spectroscopy performance, we have continuously developed this instrument to three different scanning probe systems: 4K LT-STM/AFM, a combined 4K LT-STM/AFM and a 1K LT-STM/AFM system. All these microscopes offer ultimate STM, STS and IETS performance including one of the longest LHe hold times, extremely low drift rates and outstanding stability.

CreaTec fully compatible low-temperature atomic force microscope (AFM), introduced in 2007, allows simultaneous measurements of force and tunneling current without cross-talk using constant frequency or constant height control.

Innovations

Our recent new ideas, realized in new products, include Linear Shutters, TUBO Effusion Sources, MiniMBE Systems, Control Software and Optical Access to STM/AFM Scanner head. The permanent exchange of information with our customers, prospective buyers and partners allow us to implement the latest scientific findings into our systems. Several innovations which are now integral parts of our products were generated from close cooperative efforts with leading research institutions.

Location

The company is located in Erligheim near Stuttgart, Germany (left picture). Our branch for low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope (LT-STM) equipment is located in Berlin in the Science Park Adlershof (right). The production, testing and development of all products related to LT-STM/AFM take place at our Berlin Branch. The departments Sales, Purchasing, Administration, Electronics and Design as well as the Mechanical and Electrical Workshop and Cleanroom Assembling are situated in Erligheim.
