NTI-Audio - Model Digirator DR2 -Digital Audio Signal Generator
The Digirator DR2 is a professional-grade digital audio signal generator designed to deliver a comprehensive suite of audio test signals. It features transformer-balanced AES3, S/PDIF, TOSLINK, and ADAT outputs, making it suitable for a wide array of professional audio environments. The DR2 offers the capability to generate various test signals such as sine waves, pink and white noise, polarity, delay, chirp, and sweep signals. It is equipped with a low-jitter clock generator that can be synchronized to multiple formats, including AES3, DARS, Word Clock, and Video signals. The DR2 supports measurement functionalities like channel transparency checks and channel delay measurements. Additionally, it can store user-defined test signals as WAV files, which are invaluable for maintenance and calibration purposes. The device also facilitates storing and transferring up to 10 preset configurations, making it an efficient tool for repetitive testing tasks. Designed and manufactured in Switzerland, it assures precision and reliability for verifying and optimizing surround sound installations.
The DR2 further offers a set of surround-sound test sequences for the verification and adjustment of professional digital environments including Dolby Digital, Dolby E and DTS installations. The internal low-jitter clock generator can be synchronized to AES3, DARS, Word Clock and Video signals. Measurement of channel transparency, channel propagation delay and sample frequency is supported.
A full range of digital audio test signals for maintenance, repair and calibration of professional audio equipment is generated. User test signals may be stored as uncompressed WAV-files in the DR2 memory.
The DR2 accepts AES3, DARS, Word Clock and Video Black Burst (PAL and NTSC) synchronization signals. The input impedance of the sync input may be switched between 75 Ohm, 110 Ohm and High Z.
Channel status information can be generated in professional and consumer format and the most important parameters may be manipulated manually. Display of incoming channel status data is also supported.
Up to 10 complete instrument configurations can be stored in the internal flash memory and reloaded for repetitive tasks. The saved settings may also be transferred to other DR2 instruments.
The DR2 wave file player can play back multi-channel bit stream files. A set of 5.1 test sequences for the verification and optimization of surround sound equipment and installations is stored on the unit’s flash disc.
The DR2 tests whether a transmission channel is transparent for nonlinear PCM signals and indicates if Dolby E, Dolby Digital and/or DTS bit streams can pass. This test is also suitable for any digital audio recording device.
The propagation delay between any DR2 digital audio output and the XLR sync input (which accepts AES3 signals) may be measured and displayed in seconds or video frames.
