Malmberg - Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)
Malmberg DAF is a highly efficient equipment for water clarification. A rapid method for separation of particles from water and wastewater. The system is used in municipal wastewater treatment, potable water treatment and in a variety of industrial applications such as dairy-, food-, oil-, pulp- and paper industries.
The water, flowing into the DAF tank, is injected with a high-pressure air/water solution through an air/water saturation system. The high-pressure air/water solution creates micro-bubbles that attach to the flocculated material and rapidly carry it to the surface, forming a stable floating sludge.
The floating sludge is easily removed by scrapers. The chain-driven scraper removes the surface sludge into a trough where it is transported to storage. The scraper blades are made of stainless steel that gives them extra long service life.
