Consumption-optimized washing processes focus on water consumption and primary energy. With reduced fresh water input, problems with fluff or other dirt can accumulate. The ABZ fluff filter makes optimization possible in the first place, because reusing the various water flows in a washing process (liquor overflow, press water, etc.) requires efficient fluff filtration in the laundry.

When the waste water from a laundry is discharged into the sewage system, compliance with various limit values with regard to COD, temperature, heavy metals, etc. is often officially prescribed. With waste water filtration from ABZ in combination with the ABZ heat exchanger system, not only are the imposed limit values met, but heat energy that is supposedly lost is also recovered.

When using the ABZ fluff filter in textile care, the liquid to be cleaned is fed to the rotating filter drum via a centrically arranged inlet part, flows under atmospheric conditions through the filter fabric and is returned to the process cycle or drained into the sewage system. The existing solid particles that are larger than the nominal mesh size of the fabric are held back - a filter cake builds up. As a result, the depth filtration effect is used, which enables significantly smaller particles to be separated than the nominal mesh size specifies. The cake adhering to the filter fabric is slowly conveyed upwards and dewatered by the rotary movement of the drum.

The warm waste water is fed into a tank and passed through a weir construction. The weirs arranged in cascades reduce the flow rate of the waste water and ensure an optimal distribution of the heat energy in the entire exchanger section. The cold water to be heated is fed countercurrently through a selectable number of tube bundles, which are mounted countersunk in the tank.
