ParkUSADry Pit Pumps

SHARE

A centrifugal pump designed to operate in a dry environment without the need for a separate pump room or sump. Unlike conventional wet pit submersible pumps, dry pit pumps are installed above ground and operate in an open air environment. They are typically used where the water table is high or where there is a risk of flooding, such as in wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and stormwater management systems. Dry pit pumps are designed with a large volute casing that houses the impeller, which is mounted on a vertical shaft. The impeller rotates at high speed, creating a centrifugal force that pulls the fluid into the pump and then discharges it through the volute casing. Dry pit pumps can be driven by an electric motor, diesel engine, or other type of prime mover.
