The Mixer/Mill is version and multi-purpose blending powders, creating emulsions, and homogenizing samples with ease. Various grinding vial materials are available including hardened steel, stainless steel, zirconia ceramic, silicon nitride, agate, polystyrene, methacrylate, and polycarbonate.

Each grinding vial contains a sample and one or more balls. It is then shaken in a complex motion that combines back-and-forth swings with short lateral movements in the shape of a figure-8. The clamp's motion develops strong G-forces in the vial, to pulverize the toughest rocks, slags and ceramics.

Smart, user-friendly features include a digital timer for precise control over grinding time, and the forced air cooling system keeps the motor and clamp running smoothly.
