SHARE
The Eco-K-Consult team has over 18 years of experience in wastewater treatment using Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units, including their design and production. Dissolved Air Flotation systems offer a high degree of removal efficiency and serve as a key physico-chemical stage in the wastewater treatment process. In the flotation chamber, floccules are formed by dosing primary and/or secondary flocculants, allowing lighter undissolved substances contained in the wastewater to be captured and removed. Using flotation tanks, the solid phase—such as activated sludge and other suspended particles—is effectively separated from the liquid phase.

Dissolved air flotation (DAF) units provide a high degree of removal efficiency and serve as the main physico-chemical step in the technological scheme of a WWTP.

In the flotation chamber, floccules are formed by dosing primary and/or secondary flocculants, and all lighter undissolved substances contained in the wastewater are removed. Dissolved air flotation separates the liquid and solid phases, including activated sludge and other suspended particles.

Eco-K-Consult can offer installation supervision, start-up, and testing of dissolved air flotation systems.

Typical applications of dissolved air flotation in wastewater treatment include:

Petroleum industries and refineries
Manufacturers of machine parts with increased fat or oil content in wastewater
Galvanic processes
Textile industry
Canning factories – fruit and vegetable processing
Dairies – milk processing
Slaughterhouses and meat processing plants
Vegetable oil processing – oil production
Beer and alcoholic beverage production
Others
We also have extensive experience with associated technological equipment for DAF units, such as:

Automatic stations for preparing flocculant (polyelectrolyte) solutions—automatic or manual systems for working with dry granular or liquid emulsion flocculants
Dosing pumps for flocculant (polyelectrolyte) and coagulants
Aluminum chloride/sulfate, ferric chloride/sulfate, sodium hydroxide dosing systems
Collection tanks for floated substances (integrated in the DAF unit or installed downstream)
Pumps for floated substances—transport to a collection tank before a filter press, centrifuge, or decanter for sludge dewatering
Control equipment and other auxiliary systems
Sludge dewatering systems – filter presses
