Effective - Model ELI – BST -Bursting Strength Tester
A bursting strength tester is used for the measurement of the burst strength of the Corrugated board, Paper, solid fiber board and Paper boxes. Bursting strength test ensures that the products are delivered to the customers safely.
A Digital bursting strength tester is the pressure at which sheet of a paper or fiber bursts. Moreover, the measurement of the maximum pressure applied on the paper is termed as a Bursting Strength. Moreover, the pressure is applied with the help of a bulging circular elastic diaphragm.
This test is beneficial in the measurement of the bursting strength of the products as it allows the manufacturers to ensure that their products don’t get damaged while transporting or storing.
Poor packaging of products can lead to severe damage during transportation, delivery or storage. The products may get damaged if the packaging of a product is not enough to bear the handling conditions while delivering, if the packaging is not good then they will not reach the customers in good condition. This leads to losses for the manufacturers as they may need to refund or replace the products. Hence, the poor quality of products not only leads to financial loss but it may affect the reputation of the manufacturers. And the loss of reputation is the biggest in a business.
Problems in packaging
There are numerous problems with poor packaging. According to research, 59% of products are rejected by consumers due to their poor packing. This packaging destroys the image of the business and the financial cost of the product.
If the products come in unattractive and inadequate packaging to the customers, they won’t purchase that brand again and they won’t recommend that product to the other customers.

A Bursting strength machine is an equipment which is used for the determination of the strength and resistance of several materials. We are going to share some knowledge on the bursting strength tester principle.
Preparation of Specimen: A circular sample of the material is clamped securely between the clamping rings of the instrument.
Application of Pressure: The rubber membrane or diaphragm that presses on the specimen is subjected to hydraulic pressure.
Pressure Increase: Until the specimen ruptures or bursts, the pressure is progressively raised. It is measured how much pressure is needed to create the rupture.
Calculating Bursting Strength: By dividing the highest pressure exerted by the area of the diaphragm in contact with the specimen, one can determine the bursting strength.
Results Displayed: The device then shows the bursting strength value, which indicates how much pressure the material can bear before rupturing.
While testing, a sample of the material is clamped between two plates. The pressure is applied to the plates until the material bursts.
It is the maximum pressure at which the material bursts. Hence, a carton bursting strength tester is critical for ensuring the durability and quality of materials.
