HydroleapModel HL-EC Reactor -Electrocoagulation Water Treatment System

SHARE
The HL-EC Reactor employs the electrocoagulation process to effectively treat industrial wastewater by removing contaminants such as heavy metals, suspended solids, organic compounds, and dyes. By applying an electrical potential to submerged electrodes like aluminum or iron, it generates metal cations that serve as coagulants, facilitating the formation of flocculants through subsequent reactions with contaminants. These aggregates are then eliminated through physical processes. This modular and fully automated reactor features a capacity range of 1 to 20 m³/hr, with a power consumption of 0.5 to 3 kWh/m³. Its straightforward operation allows for reduced retention time compared to traditional methods, while also offering a lower-energy and eco-friendly alternative. The reactor excels in decreasing oil and grease levels by nearly 95% and achieving up to 90% removal of total suspended solids, with a 60-80% reduction in COD and BOD levels. The HL-EC system requires minimal maintenance, and its scalability ensures it meets diverse industrial demands.

The HL-EC reactor revolves around the electrocoagulation process, which is well-known for its efficacy in removing impurities from a wide range of industrial effluents - These include the infamous heavy metals, suspended particles, organic compounds and dyes. In this process, an electrical potential is applied to submerged electrodes such as Aluminium or Iron, to generate metal cations that act as coagulants. In turn, they undergo side reactions with the contaminants to form flocculants. Aggregates can then be subsequently removed by physical processes easily, depending on whether they float to the surface of the water, or settle at the bottom.
