EMI - Flowing Polyelectrolyte Station
From Polymer Units
Most popular type of polyelectrolyte preparation station (PPS). Construction features a single tank with 3 separate chambers for diluting, maturing and storage of polyelectrolyte solution. Water flows through all of the chambers in a sequence. Multi-plate overflow prevents back-flows and gives sufficient retention time for maturing. The station can be equipped with a hopper for powder and/or concentrate pump. Advanced automatics are easy to control thanks to intuitive touch screen. As polyeectrolytes differ in their characteristics, EMI units can be adjusted to specific needs through calibration and a number of settings, including vibration and mixing parameters.
Robust water supply line
Our water feed is equipped with manual valve, pressure reducer, a mechanic filter, solenoid valve and a precise pulse meter. All elements having contact with process water are made of brass to avoid any corrosion and grant durability.
Patented moisturing cone
We have developed and patented an unique moisturing cone. It creates a whirlpool which draws small particles of polymer powder as it falls through to mixing chamber. As a result, the polymer is diluted in best possible conditions without the risk of forming clumps. We have also thought about the ease of maintenance: the cone cleans itself when water flows through it.
Mixer in each chamber
A mixer in each of the chambers allows users to keep their solution in the right shape. One can control mixing time and intervals. Mixers are powered by motors of renowed manufacturers. The agitators were designed specifically for dense liquids.
Our hoopers are always made of stainless steel and come with full equipment necessary to store and doze powdered polymer. It is kept dry thanks to sealing cover and heating cable reaching also dozing screw. An electric vibrator prevents clumping of the powder in the tray. A grate installed above moving elements secures maintenance teams against injuries.
EMI stations were designed to fit in industrial environment. This means that all delicate elements are placed in spots which are least exposed. All maintenance procedures are supported with hardware solutions, including piping for periodic emptying. All flanges are placed on one side for simplicity and clarity of connecting pipelines.
Each EMI station comes with a stainless steel control cabinet featuring a touchscreen control panel. The interface with visual elements is intuitive and easy to use. Siemens S7 industrial controller provides a multitude of functions and makes integration with master systems (SCADA, etc) easy and simple.
Various tank materialsStandard tanks are made of polypropylene (PP). EMI offers also tanks made of stainless steel: AISI 304 or 316 for most demanding conditions.Pneumatic powder supplyHigh consumption of powder calls for frequent fill-ups. To reduce operating costs, we recommend using pneumatic powder supply lines featuring specialized sub-pressure transport units from leading brands. Such lines can be also equipped with equipment for unloading and emptying big-bags.Concentrate tankEach station can be upgraded with teh ability to dilute polyelectrolyte concentrate (emulsion). Concentrate is stored in a stainless steel tank with level controls and pumped with a screw pump.Dilution systemAs EMI polyelectrolyte preparation stations can reach high concentrations of the solution, it is reasonable to use them in combination with static secondary dilution systems which greatly increase the nominal output at a fraction of the cost while lowering the concentration to desired level.
