HCT - Model F-500 -Encapsulator Agent
Encapsulator Agents are not traditional firefighting foams. Foam extinguishers and other foam solutions work on a mechanical level to mitigate flammable liquids, while Encapsulator Agents act on a molecular level, altering the composition of a water droplet with the introduction of spherical micelles. Unlike dry chemical extinguishers using agents like ammonium phosphate or potassium bicarbonate, our Agent targets all four legs of the fire tetrahedron simultaneously, providing a comprehensive solution for multi-class hazards.
Our F-500 Encapsulator Agent is a versatile fire-extinguishing agent, effective against Class A fires, involving ordinary combustible materials such as paper, wood, or cloth, Class B fires with combustible liquids, Class C fires involving electrical equipment within energized environments, and Class D fires involving combustible metals. It is even effective against complex hazards like three-dimensional or flowing fuel fires and lithium-ion battery fires.
Safety While Limiting Damage, Loss, and Downtime
Combustible metals, lithium-ion batteries, synthetic fabrics, and other hazardous materials are increasingly common in homes, workplaces, and industrial facilities, posing challenges for traditional fire suppression systems. The F-500 Encapsulator Agent, our flagship fire-extinguishing agent, offers four unique features that make it highly effective for these modern hazards. F-500 EA® excels in addressing fires involving Class A, B, and C hazards, while also being environmentally friendly.
For those prioritizing environmental compliance, F-500 EA® contains no fluorinated active ingredients, avoiding concerns about global warming and ozone layer impacts. It is fully compliant with environmental regulations, including SARA Title III and CERCLA, and can be safely discarded as non-hazardous waste under RCRA CFR261, making it a safer alternative to traditional chemical agents and halon extinguishers.
F-500 EA® is found free of fluorides recognized as harmful and carcinogenic by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) following EPA Modified 537 testing.
F-500 EA® is internationally recognized as a readily biodegradable substance for applications alongside marine, freshwater, and soil species under normal conditions of use.
Decades of scientific testing has shown that F-500 EA® has an approximate PH of 7. It is noncorrosive and has even been utilized to treat miscellaneous hazmat spills.
F-500 EA® provides exceptional encapsulation for both polar and non-polar fuels, significantly reducing the risk of re-ignition and delivering long-term, stable burn-back resistance. Unlike foam solutions that may struggle with flammable liquids, F-500 EA® ensures three-dimensional flowing fuel fire suppression and superior hazard mitigation.
- Expand Hazard Mitigation Capabilities
- Establish Confident Incident Response
- Experience Long-term Stable Burn Back Resistance
- Prevent Re-ignition
F-500 EA® molecules form an outer layer on each water droplet, driving heat internally where micro spherical micelles absorb thermal energy. This advanced design ensures rapid cooling and reduces re-ignition risks in hazardous environments.
- Expand Rapid Knockdown Capabilities
- Improve Droplet Utilization
- Prevent Scalding Steam and Excess Runoff
- Decrease Time, Resources, and Exposure
F-500 EA® reduces harmful hydrocarbons in smoke and soot by interrupting the free radical chain chemical reaction, ensuring cleaner, safer suppression of fires.
- Reduce Carcinogenic Toxin Concentration
- Promote Department and Employee Health
- Improve Visibility and Air Quality
- Reduce Environmental Contamination
F-500 EA® is a fluorine-free, non-corrosive, and biodegradable fire extinguisher agent capable of addressing three-dimensional, multi-class hazards.
- Improve Community Health
- Prevent Hazardous and Costly Cleanup
