EvU - Biofilm & Activated Sludge Process

The biofilm process is one of the oldest technical procedures of biological wastewater clarification. It is proven that biofilms are capable of remarkable performances in wastewater cleaning. There are obvious advantages: the installation of compact plants that are highly efficient, can be done environmentally sound and in general, without using chemical agents.

The EvU –process is based on an activated sludge biology combined with the moving bed biofilm biology. Activated sludge and microorganisms, in form of a biofilm, settle on mechanical and biological durable carrier material.

Our developed EvU-Pearl carrier material has a large, specific growth area (m²/m³ bulk volume) which achieves a significant increase in active bio mass concentration per m³ tank volume.
