Exhaust Fans and Pads
Manage the cooling of your greenhouse actively with Pad & Fan Cooling. Using Pad & Fan Cooling is a great way of controlling the air temperature, humidity and fresh air circulation in a greenhouse. The Fans draw air though the wet Pads, evaporating the water, thereby cooling the air. This way you can create a huge drop in air temperature, while maintaining a perfect humidity level for growth of plants.

| Control the air in your greenhouse Ensuring a great quality of your plants is something that every grower wants. Great quality is largely determined by having conditions in your greenhouse which are not too hot, too cold, too dry or too wet. Every crop prefers different air conditions, so it is really important to be able to control these conditions yourself. Exhaust Fans & Pads are being used for controlling the air in your greenhouse.
Improve working conditionsThe conditions in your greenhouse can be changed for you in any way you want. If you want to learn more about finding the best growing conditions for your plants, take a look at the graph in our ‘read more’ section on this page. Here you will be able to find a graph which tells you more about selecting the best air conditions for your plants. You can also contact one of our experts to help you get the right conditions for your crop. Everybody who has been in a greenhouse knows that the conditions can be pretty extreme. In the middle of the day greenhouses can become very hot. Most offices in Australia have an air conditioning system installed, so why shouldn’t your greenhouse have one? The Exhaust Fans & Pads work in a similar way as air conditioning in your greenhouse. The Exhaust Fans can provide your workers with a gentle breeze which you can feel through the entire greenhouse. This makes working in a greenhouse much more pleasant for your staff. After all, your plants don’t like it when it’s too hot, neither do your employees.

Reduce the chance of crop diseases
You can lower the chance on crop diseases by using Exhaust Fans & Pads. Exhaust Fans & Pads makes sure plants have a minimal heat and water stress environment. Reducing the stress level for plants decreases the susceptibility for diseases.
Having a greenhouse which is too hot generally gives room for a lot of diseases to spread. Also a lot of insects like warmer climates. Therefore it is important to cool your climate and refresh the air in your greenhouse frequently, too diminish the spread of diseases.
A greenhouse which is too hot or too dry can also cause tissue damage which is irreversible. Once your plants have tissue damage such as tip burn, your plant won’t be able to use their leaves as well as it used to do. Therefore the transpiration and photosynthesis activity will lower. This will result in lesser quality of your crops.

Vapour Pressure Deficit
A lot of growers use two variables of the environment in their greenhouse to control the greenhouse air conditions; temperature and humidity. This would mean that they would try to get stable values for the temperature and humidity level. Controlling your greenhouse in this way is completely fine, however there is a more practical method.
More growers are starting to prefer using ‘Vapour Pressure Deficit’ (VPD). It is determined by the combination of temperature and humidity level of your greenhouse. It has the same variables, but nonetheless this method has some advantages. VPD is the difference (deficit) between the amount of moisture in the air and how much moisture the air can hold when it is saturated. When the VPD is too high, plants can no longer transpire and dew will start to form on the leaves. If it is too low, the plant can dry out. Too low or too high VPD-levels will lower the capability of the plant to transport nutrients and will have a negative impact on growth.
