BinMasterModel VRX71 -Extended Vibrating Probe Level Sensor for High Temperatures

SHARE

Replacing BinMaster’s SHT-140, the VRX71 vibrating probe level sensor with pipe extension for high temperatures is ideal for use in harsh processing environments up to 480°F (250°C) where an extended probe is necessary for high-level or plugged chute alerts.

VRX71 features a bright, built-in LED status indicator that can be viewed from afar, turning from red to green based on whether material is or is not covering the probe and damping its vibration.

The sensor is mounted at the top of a bin, tank, silo, or vessel with 1-1/2" NPT threads. Its rigid pipe extension is extendable from 10.25” to 13.3’ (33.02 cm to 3.96 m) and ends in a reinforced stainless steel vibrating blade. It utilizes a 24 VDC or 115/230 VAC power supply.

VRX71 delivers consistent results in demanding conditions, measuring anything from heavy and chunky mining and aggregate materials to light, low-dielectric materials as light as 1.9 lb./ft.³ (30 g/liter) such as fly ash powder, flakes, and pellets.

By providing reliable level and plugged chute alerts in high-temperature environments, users can keep workers safe from heated materials, prevent overfills, and ensure materials are flowing as intended, reducing the risk of operational downtime due to blockages or obstructions.

BinMaster’s VRX71 features DPDT relay contacts, allowing the user to preset two switching outputs—such as to “covered” and “uncovered”—plus configurable time delay settings and selectable fail-safe protection.

The VRX71 die-cast aluminum power pac—rated NEMA Type 4X—features 3/4" NPT dual conduit entries, a screw-off cover, and USDA-approved powder coat finish. Its self-cleaning capabilities and rugged, heat-resistant design offer a long, dependable service life.

VRX rigid extensions are made to order in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA to best fit your application.

High-Temp Vibrating Rods: Point Level Detection to Nearly 500°F

The VRX61 and VRX71 high-temperature vibrating probes conquer process temperatures up to 482°F (250°C).

Need point level detection in extreme temperatures?
Handling heated powders like fly ash or carbon black?

A lagged design and insulation tube protects and distances electronics from excessive heat, providing durability and dependability.

Standard and extended models:

VRX61: Standard insertion length of 7.37" for top, side, or cone mounting

VRX71: Rigid pipe extension for top-mount applications, from 13” up to 13`

Vibrating rods succeed where other sensors struggle:

  • Measures lightweight materials with bulk densities as low as 1.25 lb./ft.³
  • Thrives in materials heated to high temperatures
  • Offers high- or low-level indication, or plugged chute detection

Flexible features:

  • Two sensitivity settings with no calibration needed
  • Stainless-steel, single-rod probe resists buildup
  • Universal power supply makes wiring easy
  • Self-cleaning sensor is rugged and maintenance-free

High-temp vibrating probes withstand conditions that other level detectors cannot!

Overflow Prevention
High-level alerts to avoid overfilling vessels

Material Outages
Low-level alerts eliminate empty conditions

Plugged Chutes
Detect when chutes are clogged with material

Process Control
Switching relay to turn a process off or on

Conveyor Overload
Prevent jamming or damaging conveyors
