FäthDiaphragm Valve Test Stand Plant for CIP/SIP Processes

SHARE

Diaphragm valves are used to distribute and metre fluids in process engineering systems. We developed a test stand to enable our customer Bürkert to efficiently test the stability of the valves they produce. By simulating cleaning cycles, the test stand assesses how valves react to the test media for CIP (Cleaning in Place) and SIP (Sterilization in Place) processes.

The test stand can expose up to 6 valves in sizes DN8 to DN100 to various media. They include acid and alkaline cleaning agents, DI water, compressed air, ozonated water, water vapour & vacuums. The custom plant is designed for pressures up to 10 bar and flow rates of up to max. 80 m³/h. The steam sterilisation heats the plant to temperatures up to 170 °C.

Plant components:

  • Mixing systems for three CIP chemicals
  • DI water supply
  • Steam generator
  • Ozone system
  • Vacuum generator
  • Test stand with specimens
  • Wastewater treatment

The test stand, metering cabinet and switch cabinets were manufactured in Klipphausen. All other services were provided on-site:

  • Construction of plastic storage tanks and collecting trays
  • Installation of stainless steel and plastic supply lines
  • Connection and electrical integration of measurement technology
  • Writing software and commissioning

The project was engineered from the concept to detailed planning in close coordination with the customer.
