WISYModel FS -Filter Collector and Standpipe Filter Collector

SHARE

The filter collector is installed in the vertical rainwater downpipe. It filters the runoff rainwater from the roof before discharging the filtered water through the outlet connection to the storage tank. Its filter insert is made of a fine stainless-steel mesh with a mesh size of only 0.28 mm. Leaves, moss and other debris entrained in the rainwater are reliably filtered out and flushed away through the downpipe to the soakaway or drain.

Filtering capacity

The maximum flow rate through the filter collector is 4.2 litres per second (depending on the capacity of the downpipe). As with all WISY filters, the cross-sectional area for rainwater flow does not change at any point inside the filter, i.e. to ensure the free flow of water, the cross section is not restricted at any point. There is no risk of blockage even during torrential rainfall events which may flush large quantities of debris into the filter. The filter collector meets the requirements defined by EN 12056 / EN 752 and also conforms to DIN 1989. The hydraulic efficiency of the filter is excellent. With an inflow rate of 2 litres per second, for example, 90 % of the inflowing water is harvested as filtered water.

Housing

Two versions of the filter collector housing are available:

1. Classic filter collector for installation in the rainwater downpipe

This version can be fitted anywhere in the downpipe. To install the filter collector, a section measuring 32 cm must be cut out of the downpipe and replaced by the filter collector. A projected roof area of 150 m² (1615 sq.ft.) can by drained by this version of the collector. The housing is available in stainless steel, copper or zinc so that it can be visually harmonised with the existing downpipe.

2. The standpipe filter collector as a replacement for the existing standpipe

WISY can supply the standpipe filter collector as a replacement for the standard cast iron section at the base of the rainwater downpipe. With this version, the filter collector is designed to look like a downpipe. The filtered water outlet is below ground level. The generous dimensions of this version increase its collection capacity so that it is capable of draining projected roof areas of up to 200 m² (2153 sq.ft.) in size.

Both versions are frost-proof and corrosion-resistant. Stainless-steel filters can be installed in downpipes made of zinc, copper or plastic without risk of galvanic action. The filters are available to fit various sizes of commercially available rainwater downpipe.

Easy to maintain — low-maintenance design

All WISY filter inserts are designed for very low maintenance. It is virtually impossible for debris or dirt to stick to their smooth, stainless-steel surface. As a result, the filter inserts are self-cleaning and have a long service life.

Since the filter insert of both versions of the filter collector is always above ground level, it is easily accessible and protected against backflow in the sewer system. When necessary, the insert can be removed from the housing in just a few simple steps for cleaning by a high-pressure cleaner or in the dishwasher.

The advantages of the STFS:

  • Laying the cistern inflow below ground, i.e. no second pipe visible.
  • Larger collecting space, and thus an even higher efficiency with heavy rain.

STFS Types:
Housing and fi lter insert of stainless-steel for nominal sizes DN 100, DN 87, DN 80, DN 76, plastic nominal size DN 100 and DN 70.

For installation in downpipes of metal or plastic, underground connection to cistern (through the DN 50 outlet).

The design principle only works with round down pipes.
