PWL ProCat - Fine Screens and Coarse Screens
As your reliable partner for water recycling, water and waste water treatment, we supply our customers with state-of-the-art fine screens and coarse screens for mechanical cleaning of municipal and industrial waste water.
Our modern machines are used for efficient wastewater treatment and recovery of recyclable materials. One of our most important products is the PWL ProCat® rake screen, which is available as a fine screen and coarse screen. This is used in sewage treatment plants, for example, which increases both technical and economic efficiency .
T he rake or chain circulating screen PWL ProCat® can be realized in the following four designs :
- PWL ProCat® as a fine screen: The slot widths are 1 to 10 mm, the slot grid consists of conical profiles. The comb plates are serrated from a gap width of 3 mm.
- PWL ProCat® as a coarse screen: The gap widths are 15 to 50 mm. The bars can be removed individually.
- PWL ProCat® tank devices for above-ground installation. The incline of the rakes is 50°.
- PWL ProCat® container devices for use in compact grit chambers of the PWL MODULAR systems.
Overall, the channel widths cover a spectrum from 500 to 2,700 mm
Whether with coarse screens, fine screens or another design: Our PWL ProCat® rake screens are usually combined with other machines from our extensive product range. In this case, the screenings are ejected into downstream presses, such as a PWL IWV screenings washer or a PWL HXP helix press. Discharge into a spiral conveyor of the type PWL SF and the installation of the rake in a PWL compact system is also possible. Ask us about the many possible combinations, we will be happy to assist you with our know-how. Please also visit the subpage Chain circulating screens for the mechanical cleaning of waste water to find out more about our PWL ProCat® rake or chain circulating screens.
Among the fine screen screens, the PWL spiral screen HXS (also: helix screen) is possibly the most efficient solution for small to medium-sized sewage treatment plants and industrial companies to implement fine screen installations. Our spiral screen offers three functions in a rake system with one drive: In addition to screening and separating solids from process or waste water, the screenings are transported from the area of the rake screen and dewatered. It is then dropped directly into a container or a subsequent conveyor unit, which can be a PWL spiral conveyor, for example. The spiral screens from our company can be equipped with perforated screen surfaces or slotted screen baskets and installed as tank devices or in open channels, resulting in an extremely extensive range of applications. Installation in PWL compact systems is also possible without any problems. A sophisticated pivoting mechanism also makes the PWL helix screen absolutely maintenance-friendly.
In addition to the actual screening machine, the spiral screens from PWL GmbH & Co. Anlagentechnik KG also consist of a container on the bottom of which the machine rests. When the medium flows through the screening zone, fibrous and coarse materials are retained on the screen. When the cut-in water level is reached, the material to be screened is removed by a shaftless spiral and transported to the pressing and dewatering zone. It is then dropped directly into a container or a downstream unit, and the flowing water gets back into the medium. A special brush attached to the spiral cleans the screening zone during the clearing process. The spiral conveyor has no bearing in the underwater area and slides on replaceable wear rails in the transport pipe. For more information, see the Helix Screen subpage.
The fermentation residue screening in biogas plants or from bioenergy production represents both an economically indispensable and a procedurally sensible process. Depending on the material and fermentation, these fermentation residues sometimes differ greatly. Many plant operators are obliged to separate plastic particles and other disruptive substances. The EC Regulation 1069/2009, which has now been implemented, must ensure that all substances from processing plants for "animal by-products" are handled using a solids retention system with a maximum mesh size of 2 mm. Over time, it has become more and more apparent that press screw separators used in this area entail both high personnel costs and considerable wear part costs. On the other hand, we can offer our customers the reliable PWL helix screens HXS and the PWL drum screens CFS for this separation task. Many operators have been relying on our solutions in this area for years and primarily appreciate their economical use without significant personnel costs.
Due to the great versatility of the fine screens and coarse screens from PWL GmbH & Co. Anlagentechnik KG, their areas of application are correspondingly numerous. First of all, sewage treatment plants from the municipal or industrial sector should be mentioned. In addition, our high-quality solutions are used in the paper and recycling industry. The same applies to the food industry and slaughterhouses. We also supply various power plants in which our systems are used and perform reliable work.
