FIVEphoton - Model APC-1-FIVE -Allophycocyanin (APC) Fluorescent Protein
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein with high absorbtivity and high quantum efficiency and can be conjugated to proteins for fluorescent detection. Allophycocyanin is attached to proteins using standard cross-linking techniques. Proteins conjugated with APC are used for cell sorting, flow cytometry, FRET, and ELISA. APC is isolated from cyanobacteria algae in the Spirulina genus.
