Aquatic - Fixed Film Biological Filter Towers

Our towers are uniquely designed to provide a positive air flow through the media, counter to the current of the water, insuring 100% of the air introduced to the tower exits through the outlet port (located on the top of the unit).

All our towers incorporate a water inlet port union, which manifolds to an internal, maintenance-free nozzle(s). We offer three different types of structured media, depending on your application. Our standard media, for biological filtration offers 119 sq. ft./ cu. Ft. We also offer a higher density media, where incoming water is filtered for solids removal. This media has 132 sq. ft/ cu ft. surface area, with a biomass area of up to 300 sq. ft/cu. Ft. Our units designed with an emphasis of CO2 removal, utilize a media with 69 sq. ft. /cu ft. of effective surface area.

The media we incorporate in these towers is of a cross flow design, increasing contact time to water and air. We can offer these towers with a substrate support plate for loose media applications.

Aquatic Enterprises de-gassing towers and biological filter towers are both available in non-insulated ABS, insulated PVC, and fiberglass materials. All are non-corrosive.

Aquatic Enterprises CO2 striping towers are simple and cost effective units engineered to provide high levels of stripping. Our smaller units (up to 24 cu. Ft of media) are made with durable corrosion resistant ABS plastic and have a square (or rectangular) footprint.  The square footprint offers 20% greater volume than a footprint of an equally sized cylindrical unit.  Our larger units are gel-coated fiberglass, are cylindrical for added strength and are designed and manufactured to ASTM standards. 

All our towers are fitted with an air inlet port located just below the media.  Both the de-gassing columns and trickle towers can come complete with a blower mount pre-installed.
