Insertion valves are designed to minimize disruption and reduce the cost of system maintenance by as much as 44 percent over traditional shutdown. Hydra-Stop’s 4" to 12" IV 250 Patriot insertion valves are permanent assets that can be installed under pressure without system shutdown, and can be used over and over again. And, because they are permanent assets, their costs can be depreciated over time.
The Insta-Valve 250 Patriot insertion valves from Hydra-Stop are permanent, resilient, seat-wedge insertion valves that use an engineered, reinforced composite polymer valve cartridge to stop flow in most types of pipe, and can be installed under pressure up to 250 psi — without shutdown.

The Insta-Valve 250 Patriot Series Insertion Valve is manufactured in the USA and meets requirements specified in the “Buy American Act.” Meets “American Iron and Steel”, “Made in USA” and “Buy America” requirements with the additional purchase of stainless steel domestic hardware. An optional stainless-steel bonnet is also available.
The 4" to 12" Insta-Valve 250 Patriot insertion valves are NSF 61 and ANSI 372 certified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. to be used as a fully UL®-compliant component of water systems in the United States.
NSF/ANSI Standard 61 was established to provide minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that contact drinking water. The standard includes criteria for testing and evaluating products to ensure they do not leach potentially harmful contaminants into the water system.
The installation of a Hydra-Stop Insta-Valve 250 Patriot valve is accomplished through a single circular hole cut (known as a "tap") under full line pressure into the top of the pipe with no reaming. The Insta-Valve 250 Patriot insertion valve permanently remains in place allowing for system control and maintenance in the same manner as a resilient seated gate valve.
