Flexxocover - Silo Cover
Protect the silo from weather, odor and ammonia emissions with a silo roof or silo cover from Flexxolutions. This cover can be fitted to almost any silo available in the market, be it concrete, wooden or steel. The Flexxocover is available as a gas-open version with welded straps, a separate strap construction for frequent opening and closing or a version where the roof is tensioned by extending the central column. There are also several variants available in a gas-tight version, depending on your application. The Flexxocover silo cover is designed to guarantee a maximum lifespan under all circumstances, and therefore an optimal payback for our customers. We make this possible by choosing the best materials, by using tested components and by certified production and assembly.
- Available in diameters from ø2 to ø54 meters.
- Delivery always includes centre column, tensioning system and inspection opening.
- Standard foil: polyester fabric with 2-sided PVC; 4,000 N/5 cm (900 g/m²). Stronger foils possible if desired or needed.
- In gastight execution, standard operating pressures from -0.5 to +3.5 mbar. Higher pressures possible on request.
- Centre columns minimum FSC tropical hardwood type D60. Stainless steel columns possible on request (both stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 316).
- The designs of our covers are approved in all European countries.
- The entire construction is designed to be used in all snow and wind zones in Europe, even at larger diameters.
- In specific cases we can also deliver a Flexxocover without a central column. This cover is equipped with a self-supporting structure.
- If the cover has to be opened regularly for cleaning or maintenance purposes, we can also deliver a version with a separate strap construction, which makes it possible to open and close the cover within one hour.
- The gastight cover can be executed with a gas seal on the inside or on top of the silo wall. If mounted on top of the wall, it is still possible to open the silo during stops when the system is in operation.
- For steel or stainless silo`s, tensioning is often carried out by extending the centre column. This ensures an even and uniform tensioned roof.
- The Flexxocover has been successfully assembled on more than 1000 tanks and has been placed without defects in diameters between ø2 and ø54 meters. This broad experience ensures that we can realise the best silo roof for you.

- All our metal parts that might be in contact with gas are always made of stainless steel-316 because of the minimum sensitivity to corrosion (rust).
- The slope of the silo cover is optimised on a project-by-project basis for snow load, wind forces and pressure and resulting forces on the silo wall. This significantly increases the lifespan of your silo roof!
- We manage the entire process from design and production to assembly ourselves (under KIWA K73883 and ISO-9001). This allows us to deliver maximum quality to you.
- For each silo roof you will receive an extensive report in which all strength calculations, conditions and the resulting force on the silo wall are described. By checking this with the builder, we can prevent unforeseen problems, so that a maximum lifespan can be achieved.
- The foil that is used in our products is extremely stable in shape, it has a breaking strength of 8,000 kg per linear metre produced by a West European supplier.
- Our foil suppliers give a five year guarantee on the material and we give a five year guarantee on the design and processing.
