Foundation
SGS Aqua Technologies GmbH was founded at the end of 2007. Initially, our focus was on the development and sale of products for equipping special structures in sewer networks. These primarily included automatic cleaning equipment for basins and canals, discharge controls, weirs, rakes and screens, and floating baffles.

That is when we registered our first patents.

2008
Location
We started our in-house engineering practice at SGS and outsourced our manufacturing and assembly to third-party companies. In 2008, our staff consisted of our two managing directors Mathias Geißler and Hubertus Schrage. The first business premise, which was occupied in 2008, was the home of Managing Director Mathias Geißler in Schmallenberg.

2009
Product Development
In order to be able to advance product development, we moved directly to the site of the main production facility, Susewind Kunststofftechnik GmbH in Winterberg-Siedlinghausen in 2009.

2010
New Rooms
As the order volume increased, we decided to set up our own production in 2010. In the same year, the first factory building was rented on the premises of Susewind Kunststofftechnik GmbH and equipped with the appropriate machinery.

2011
Employees
In 2011, additional employees were hired to facilitate the steadily growing order volume. Our company`s own production was also expanded from purely mechanical components to the manufacture of electrical switchgear in 2011. From then on, orders for machinery and electrical equipment could be handled completely on an in-house basis.

2012
Development

Abroad
As demand for SGS products and services continued to grow abroad, we concluded contracts with distribution partners in many European countries in 2013. Licensing agreements were signed in both the USA and South Korea. The first licenced SGS products were manufactured and distributed here from the end of 2013.

This year marked the expansion of the machine facility and the hiring of new production staff. Furthermore, we further expanded the development and registration of new patents...

2015
AquaGate Float
The market launch of the AquaGate Float for flood protection was the highlight of this year. The patented design of this system makes it possible to limit the storage target of a flood protection area and thus to protect the flood protection dam from overflowing.

Restructuring
We restructured the company from the ground up to make it more product-oriented.

Appearing as a general contractor on the market was no longer an option due to the increase in product business, especially abroad.

AquaSkim-S
Market launch of the SGSAquaSkim-S diving wall segment. High sales figures were achieved immediately after the market launch of this product The modular design and individual adaptability of this new product did very well on the market.

Shanghai
A major step towards international business activity was taken with the signing of a product representation contract with a plant manufacturer in Shanghai.

Preparations for market entry were completed by the end of 2018.

2019
AquaClean-Jet Cleaner
Market launch of the AquaClean-Jet cleaner. This product hit the pulse of the market, especially in the newly developed Chinese market. Several contracts for delivery have been concluded and the product has been optimally adapted to the needs of the new market by the end of 2019.

2020
AquaGate Damper

Market launch of the AquaGate damper. Our customers successfully applied this fully automated stowage flap with a hydraulic actuator in different variants directly after its market launch.

Equipped with innovative sensor technology, this flap can master a wide variety of tasks from storage to discharge control.

2021
Best Financial Year

This was a year in which our business hit a new record. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we managed to end this year as our best in terms of business. At this point, we would like to especially thank our workforce for their tireless commitment to fulfilling the immense order intake under these immensely difficult working conditions.

2022
Expansion of the production and storage area.
