Biogest - Model Type SWDS -Float Operated Throttle Valve for Rainwater Flow Control

The Float Operated Throttle Valve SWDS is engineered to regulate flow rates from rainwater collection systems, maintaining a consistent outflow while preventing hydraulic overloading of wastewater treatment plants. The valve operates automatically without the need for external power, adjusting the gate plate position based on the water level in storm conditions to maintain the desired flow rate. Capable of being integrated with systems ranging from DN 100 to DN 1000, it can manage flow capacities from 5 l/s to 2400 l/s. The design leverages high-quality stainless steel, ensuring durability, and allows for simple, cost-effective installation and retrofitting. Its compact design obviates the need for a separate throttle shaft, enhancing its utility in various setups. Custom specifications for higher capacities or unique requirements can be accommodated.

Throttling devices have the task of limiting the flow rate from a rainwater accumulation system to the previously defined value and of allowing it to flow away constantly regardless of the storage height.

The Float operated throttle valve Type SWDS ensures that the connected wastewater treatment plant is fed with reduced quantities and is not hydraulically overloaded.

In normal dry weather flow the gate plate is in the open position and the orifice is unrestricted. During storm activity the chamber will fill and exceed the hydraulic capacity of the valve leading to backing up in the chamber the float will rise with the water level progressively closing the gate plate as it does so. The onward flow is calculated using the estimated maximum head and the orifice area.
