Fluidesa - Model UF Line -Ultrafiltration Cartridges
The UF LINE cartridges are designed for ultrafiltration of water by hollow fibers. Ultrafiltration is a filtration process that allows the separation of unwanted substances, even very small ones, in the water. The pores of the membranes are so small that bacteria and even viruses are too large to pass through. The micro-pores present on the surface of the hollow fiber membrane, with a diameter of 0.1 micron, retain all the impurities greater than this diameter. Viruses, bacteria, cysts, solid particles and turbidity (as long as they are larger) are thus blocked on the outside of the hollow fiber, while the dissolved salts and essential elements, at the molecular level, are useful to the human body, pass through and flow towards the user.
These UF cartridges are made for "outside" to "inside" operation, with a multitude of small tubes, or fibers. During the passage of the solution to be filtered, the dirt remains collected in the outer part of the hollow fibers, while the filtered liquid flows into the inner part and is sent to the user. By periodically passing the water flow on the contrary it is possible to backwash the fibers and partially restore the flow rate of the cartridge.
NB: to ensure longer life, this cartridge must be protected with a 1 micron prefilter.
