Folding Stairs
Simple access to and exit from a tanker is provided by the Folding Stair unit. Available with a range of optional safety cages, this simple retractable stair is the primary method of tanker top access all over the world. The proven design with parking lock gives an effective method of bridging a variable gap between platform and tanker.
Safety
Folding Stairways are normally used to bridge the distance from loading racks to tank cars or rail tankers.. Folding Stairways have to fulfil high safety requirements.
The EMCO Folding Stairway E0264 fulfils the highest safety requirements.
The “German Health and Safety Executive Technical Committee” has approved the EMCO Folding Stairway E0264. This authority has awarded the EMCO Folding Stairway E 0264 with it’s test certificate 95029 for Folding Stairways (3 - 5 steps) without safety basket subject to correct installation, operation and maintenance.
It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the structure will withstand the weight and moment of the folding stair.
UK Specification units are galvanised as standard and have a “Pull-UP” rope fitted as standard. The safety cage has two sizes. The standard cage is 1.4m x 1.4m and the large cage is 2.8m x 1.4m.
A third rail on the cage can be specified. All step units have a hand and mid-rail fitted as standard.
