Prozomix - Model PRO-FDH(001) -Formate dehydrogenase (NAD+)

PRO-FDH(001) is an NAD+ specific formate dehydrogenase, suitable for the regeneration of NADH during reductive biotransformations, such as during aldehyde/ketone reduction according to equations (i) and (ii).

(i) Aldehyde/ketone   +   NADH   +   H+  ®   alcohol   +   NAD+ 

(FDH)

(ii) NAD+   +   formate   ®   NADH   +   CO2

FDH enzymes are particularly suited to biocatalysis applications, as the CO2 liberated fundamentally imparts a very favourable equilibrium, and any remaining formate can generally be removed with ease.
