Gradiant - Free Radical Oxidation (FRO) Technology
High-Efficiency Advanced Oxidation of Wastewater: Gradiant’s Free Radical Oxidation (FRO) is a cost-effective advanced oxidation process (AOP) for the removal of Total Organic Carbon (TOC), refractory organics, and other non-biodegradable organics from the most challenging wastewaters. AOPs are in-situ treatment technologies that use hydroxyl radicals, the ultimate oxidant, for removal of organic contaminants in wastewater. These are highly effective methods to accelerate the oxidation process. AOP can combine with components such as ozone (O3), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), sulphate (SO4), and E-Peroxone to offer a powerful treatment of wastewater.
FRO technologies can treat up to 50,000 mg/L of COD consistently and cost-efficiently.
The FRO platform includes:
- E-Fenton
- Fluidized Bed Reaction (FBR) Fenton
- Fine Bubble Ozonation
- E-Peroxone
Superior to Conventional Ozonation
FBO is more cost-effective and outperforms conventional ozonation systems, with its micro and nanobubble generator. Only 5% of the oxidant dosage is needed versus conventional systems — resulting in 50% less energy and chemical consumption. Another advantage of FBO is the floatation effect of the microbubbles which serve to remove TSS during the oxidation process, thereby eliminating the need for downstream solids removal.
Treat the Most Challenging Wastewaters
Gradiant’s FRO treats up to 50,000 mg/L of COD consistently and cost-efficiently. FRO technologies are well-suited for industrial wastewaters generated from microelectronics, refining & chemicals, food & beverage, and textiles.
High-Efficiency Design
Patented designs targeted for specific contaminants result in lower retention time than conventional systems, allowing for smaller system footprints. Lower chemical consumption versus conventional technologies.
Low Operating Costs
Only 5% of the oxidant dosage is needed versus conventional ozonation systems — resulting in 50% less energy and chemical consumption. Lower sludge production versus conventional Fenton reaction systems.
