Gorbel - Free Standing Jib Crane
Free Standing Jib Cranes are Gorbel’s most versatile crane and are best for heavy duty, high productivity applications. They are the perfect jib crane to place underneath large bridge cranes, in open areas where they can serve several work stations, in outdoor applications such as loading docks, or in machining and assembly operations where they can be overlapped with other jib cranes to provide staged operation.
As the most widely used type of jib crane, a free Standing jib crane is manually operated and is able to rotate 360°. They are manufactured in a wide array of heights and spans and require a 6” reinforced concrete foundation for secure mounting.
- Capacity: Up to 10,000 lbs
- Span: Circular to 20`

Here are some key features of our Free Standing Jib Crane:
- 3 available mounting styles – base plate mounted, Insert mounted (permanent), sleeve mounted (removable)
- Boxed style head provides benefits from install to operation of the jib crane
- Full supporting triangular gussets that minimize crane deflection, making it easier to accurately position loads
- In-head, enclosed bottom entry collector assembly allows the option to add power to the hoist for 360 degree rotation at the time of or after purchase
- Head retaining pin provides resistance to accidental upward dislodgement of the head
Prior to selecting a Free Standing Jib Crane for your application, two key requirements must be met. The jib crane needs to be supported by a structurally adequate foundation unless you choose a foundationless design. There must be sufficient clearance above the boom (nominally 3 inches) throughout its arc.
