Union-Steel - Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Coated Pipes
Fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coated pipes are used for prevent steel pipes from corrosion and harmful chemicals. These are thin coatings of epoxy-resin powder materials formed in a film and applied on pipes by specialised coating facilities by electrostatic spraying. These FBE coated pipes can be used in temperatures up to 85oC in dry conditions. FBE Coating has been used as a standard in industries for protection against corrosion. FBE coatings have good handling characteristics; they are flexible and resistant to soil pressure. These are used in pipeline projects that have normal requirements and do not have harsh conditions.

Types of FBE Coating Steel Pipe
FBE steel pipe have two types: one layer and two layers pipe.
FBE coating steel pipes are generally single layer coated pipe.It provides a rough, non-slip surface for a pipeline that require a concrete coating. A special fusion bonded epoxy powder mixed with solid epoxy resin and other adhesive material that helped to adhere to pipe surface.
FBE dual layers coated steel pipes have high performances on the impact resistance and flexibility, so they are recommended for the offshore pipelines and the pipelines systems operating in the tough environments.Offers suitable protection for the coating from the damage during transportation and construction. The second layer is also made of a similar fused bonded epoxy,and the two layers are sprayed in turn. Depending on the application,the dual-layer FBE can also be fitted with an Abrasion-Resistant Overcoat(ARO) to reduce damage to the pipe.
