Due to different geological environments, precious gemstones from different places, such as rubies, emeralds or sapphires, often show different concentrations of characteristic trace element combinations. For example, the identification and quantitative analysis of these elements can be traced back to the origin of emeralds, such as Colombia, Brazil, Afghanistan, Zambia or Zimbabwe. Similarly, the presence of certain trace elements helps to distinguish between valuable natural gemstones (such as rubies) and almost worthless synthetic crystals (such as synthetic rubies).
The EDX9000G combines current advanced XRF energy dispersion spectroscopy and FP (Fundamental Parameter Method) software, while integrating a comprehensive gem test database (GEMLAB). By quickly identifying characteristic spectral lines and elements in gemstones, it provides users with an efficient and accurate method of identifying natural and synthetic gemstones.
