Gloveboxes were originally developed for handling hazardous nuclear materials in support of our national defense mission.  Today, gloveboxes are still used by the Department of Energy in support of national defense, but they are also used in the pharmaceutical industry for research and manufacturing, in university and other research facilities, and in specialty manufacturing facilities.

Wagstaff Applied Technologies is a  member of the American Glovebox Society (AGS).  The AGS promotes the dissemination of knowledge through an annual conference and publications.  The AGS produces a bi-annual magazine called The Enclosure, and they publish Guidelines and Standards as developed by the AGS Standards and Practices Committee.
