During a storm, the high volume of flowing water can overload sewer systems and storage basins, causing overflow and flooding to the entire system. The ACU-VORTEX vortex flow controller is designed to regulate the inflow of stormwater overflow systems, combined with sewer overflow (CSO) systems, sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) systems, holding tank overflows and pond overflows.

The design of the ACU-VORTEX vortex flow controller is based on the forced vortex principle. The ACU-VORTEX vortex flow controller regulates large upstream flows by causing the fluid flowing through the StormFlow vortex controller to enter a vortex motion at a sufficiently high velocity. This movement enables the fluid to flow at a constant, lower flow rate. Different models are available to suit any type of flow control required.
