PWL - Grit Washer for Dewatering Grit
As an expert in waste water treatment and processing, we offer a wide range of modern machines that ensure efficient waste water purification and also enable the recovery of recyclable materials. All products are developed on the basis of extensive practical know-how from various industrial sectors and municipal sewage treatment plants and are structurally adapted to the individual operating conditions. In addition to various screens - curved screens, spiral screens and drum screen systems - and drum filters, spiral conveyors and compact systems, the range also includes grit washers for dewatering grit.
The entire construction of the DLK compact washer consists of high-quality, rustproof stainless steel and is welded, pickled and passivated under protective gas. A special steel is used for the spirals. The drive motors are customarily painted twice. We have many different grit washer designs ready for you, which differ in terms of their size, the inflow volume and the type of feed.
In addition to the listed standard sizes, we are also happy to implement individual special solutions for you on request.
- Materials: Stainless steel, welded under inert gas, pickled and passivated
- Spirals: special steel
- Agitator: hardened steel
- Drive motors: painted twice
First, the sand washer is fed tangentially with the mixture of heavy matter and water. A conveyor spiral transports the sediment mixture that settles into the connected washing reactor. The rotating movement of the agitator in combination with the flow of washing water through the sediment stock rubs off the lighter components, then flushed them out over an overflow sill and transferred to the further process.
The washed heavy matter sediments, collects on the reactor floor and is discharged in cycle operation with a low-wear spiral. The residue remaining in the agitator tank acts as a separating layer and ensures that no contaminated material escapes. You can flexibly set the sediment stack height and discharge quantity and adapt it to your individual conditions.
In their usual composition, sand trap contents have an organic content of 50 to 80 percent. However, conventional sand collectors can usually only drain the sand collected, so that the lack of dry substance has negative consequences such as high weight, odor nuisance and increased disposal costs. PWL GmbH & Co. Anlagentechnik KG has an adequate solution ready with the DLK compact sand washer. With this special grit washer, which is suitable for the treatment of grit trap and sewer cleaning material as well as grit and road sweepings, the organic content in the grit trap can be washed out. This means that the loss on ignition of the washed sand is less than three percent and at the same time there is a high dry residue of over 90 percent. In combination, both lead to that the mass is reduced by up to 80 percent and thus cost savings for disposal of up to 90 percent are possible. If the sand is recycled, there are no disposal costs at all.
Due to the advantages mentioned, the sand washer is used particularly successfully in municipal sewage treatment plants. But it is also used in industry, for example to separate good and waste materials. Due to the separate ejection of the different fractions, further processing and reuse is possible in addition to disposal. This has the advantage that the recyclable materials can be fed back into the production process and the waste materials can be disposed of separately and inexpensively.
- Reduction of the organic content below 3%
- Dry matter of the washed sand over 90%
- Sand discharge without level measurement in contact with the medium
- Automatic monitoring of the wash water supply
- No seals in the underwater area
- Low space requirement due to steep discharge
- Low washing water consumption
- Short-term amortization/low disposal costs
- Recycling or landfill disposal
- Fully automatic operation
- Robust technology
