API - Model I-360™ -Handheld Probing and Scanning
The I-360™ from Automated Precision Inc. (API) is a groundbreaking advancement in hand-held probing and scanning technology. As an accessory to the Radian Laser Tracker, the I-360 is offered in three models to fit any unique need or application: as the wireless, probe-only I-Probe, the scan-only I-Scan II, or the probing/scanning I-Scan II with Probing. All models offer the same lightweight body and flexible head movement.
Now in its fourth generation, the I-360 continues to simplify measurement tasks and increase process efficiency. The I-Probe 360, with an additional low-variance probe location, is more accurate than ever at measuring hidden points that cannot be obtained with a spherically mounted retroreflector (SMR). The I-Scan II’s improved camera technology offers greater reliability in scanning. It can also scan a wider variety of surfaces, including high-gloss and high-contrast areas.
The I-360 Combo is built on the same body as the IntelliScan and the IntelliProbe and features the same ultra-flexible sensor head that moves in 360° yaw and 360° roll to achieve unlimited acceptance. The I-360 combo can measure undercuts and covered edges, hidden points, crevices and drilled holes, among other points.
The I-360’s positioning is determined through an onboard sensor and gyroscope, a far more accurate measure of its location and direction than the tracker-mounted cameras that other handheld instruments use.
The aluminum body of the I-360 Comb weighs just 2.5 lbs., and its simple one-button operating system makes using it virtually effortless for a wide variety of measurement applications. With both probing and scanning capabilities, the I-360 can be used in virtually any measurement job, including:
- Tooling, fixtures, and jigs
- Automobile body parts
- Mold and die cavities
- Surface contours
- Part inspections
- Quality Assurance
- Compare to CAD
- Gap and Flush measurement
- Rapid prototyping
- In-process inspection
- Reverse engineering
