The ??65??? (??760) Socket Weld Flange is forged between a temperature range of 2250 ºF to 1750ºF followed by soaking the alloy at forging temperature for a period of 30 minutes per inch of billet or ingot section thickness. Forging must be started immediately, once the stock as produced by the C276 steel flange weight chart is removed from the reheat furnace. A 25% to 40% reductions will help in retaining as much internal heat as possible. In order to ensure optimum resistance to corrosion, forged parts of the C-276 alloy should be subsequently annealed.
The ??760 NW 0276 Flange Material is generally supplied in the solution-annealed condition. Solution annealing treatment is carried out at a temperature of 2050ºF or 1120ºC followed by quenching with water or rapid air cooling. The treatment is performed on the ANSI B16.5 Hastelloy C276 Steel Plate Flange after hot working is known to ensure optimum corrosion resistance. The treatment can also be performed between cold-working operations.
Although the EN - Nimo16cr15w Plate Flanges are considered between a moderate to difficult range to machine, the alloy can be machined using conventional shop practises. Since the Nickel Alloy C276 Forged Flanges have a higher work hardening rate, efficient machining of the alloy requires various points to be taken into consideration. For instance, parameters such as the requirement to use sharp tools, powerful, yet rigid machines that must be preferably carbide-tipped, and heavy, constant feeds.
The ASTM B564 UNS N10276 Hastelloy C276 Flanges are welded in a similar fashion as C-22 alloy. Two of the most commonly used techniques to weld the C-276 alloy are by either Gas-tungsten-arc welding (GTAW) or the shielded-metal-arc welding method (SMAW). It is recommended by the Alloy C276 Forgings Manufacturer that the C-276 alloy be treated by solution Annealing. It is important that the alloy be kept in a solution-annealed condition for welding. Most manufacturers also recommend that a filler metal must be used while welding the C-276 alloy in order to achieve optimum results on welding. Submerged-arc-welding is not recommended for the UNS N10276 Pipe Flange because the input of heat is high with this method and slow cooling of the weld. Apart from the fore mentioned technique, Oxyacetylene welding is not recommended, to prevent carbon pickup in the weld.
