This reclining steel flood wall is constructed from galvanized high-strength steel frames connected by zink plated steel bars and marine-grade alloy plates, and lined with a heavy-duty polyethylene membrane. The weight of the water pushes the barrier into the ground surface where the metal cleats provide friction and stabilize the wall against sliding. The wide base eliminates the risk of overturning and the high strength of the steel combined with the ingenious engineering ensures that the structure withstands the loads without yielding, buckling, or shearing.
Designed to overcome any obstacle, to seal against any undulation or uneven ground, make turns, climb hills or go down slopes, this versatile flood barrier is ideal to fight flooding in all terrains – urban and rural.
One of the greatest benefits (and a huge money saver) with all Geodesign flood barriers is the flat-packed design in the demounted stage. The barrier parts fit perfectly in stackable steel crates which is really useful in both transport and storage. One US standard freight trailer can fit over 400 linear ft of the 6 ft high Heavy Duty flood barrier.
