Universal rolls are made of twin-bonded layers of melt-blown polypropylene. This creates a greater surface areas, enabling the pad to suck up liquid quickly. The ultrasonic weld points fuse the layers of melt-blown polypropylene fibers together, allowing it to keep its shape even when fully saturated. One of the most commonly used products in oil cleanups are universal rolls. The advantage of a roll is that it can be cut to the desired length or can be bought perforated so that it can easily be torn off.
