Aquafix - Model Dynamic Duo -Heterotrophic and Autotrophic Nitrifying Bacteria
Dynamic Duo provides heterotrophic and autotrophic nitrifying bacteria that reduce ammonia into nitrate and nitrite. It also supplements high concentrations of autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing and nitrite-oxidizing bacteria, such as Nitrospora, Nitrosomonas, Nitrospira, and Nitrobacter, to then convert nitrate and nitrite into non-detect forms of nitrogen.
Heterotrophic Bacteria for Ammonia Removal: Utilizes both carbon and nitrogen to consume nitrate and nitrite.
Autotrophic Bacteria for Nitrogen Oxidation: Includes high concentrations of ammonia-oxidizing and nitrite-oxidizing bacteria for complete ammonia removal.

Dynamic Duo is a powerful two-part treatment designed to accelerate ammonia removal and restore healthy nitrification in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems. This combination of nitrifier bacteria and biostimulants provides immediate and sustained support for systems struggling with high ammonia levels, toxic shocks, or seasonal disruptions.
The first component delivers a high concentration of fast-starting Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter species—key players in the ammonia-to-nitrate conversion process. The second part includes a proprietary biostimulant blend that enhances bacterial attachment, activity, and resistance to environmental stressors. Together, they work to quickly rebuild a stable nitrifier population and restore full treatment capacity.
Dynamic Duo is ideal for use after upsets caused by toxicity, hydraulic overload, or low dissolved oxygen, as well as during seasonal transitions when cold temperatures slow microbial activity. It can be applied directly to aeration basins, oxidation ditches, or biofilters, and is safe for use in any biological nutrient removal (BNR) or conventional activated sludge system.
