Established in 1992, Verichek Technical Services, Inc. is dedicated to serving the analytical needs of the metals industry. The exclusive distributor of Oxford Analytical and RMG metal-analyzing spectrometers in North America, Verichek has a full line of analyzers for metal applications.

Verichek’s president, Joseph “Joe” R. Froetschel, began his career in metals with J&L Steel in 1977. In 1980 he trained as an OES technician and worked in the Met Lab. In 1986 he was hired by Franklin Steel to set up their Metallurgical Lab. He later continued his career in sales with Spectro Analytical Instruments. In this capacity, he realized the need for someone with the knowledge and experience to perform Positive Metal Identification (PMI) service for companies that were not equipped to handle it themselves, and Verichek Technical Services, Inc. was formed. His uncanny talent for reading metal, people and market trends has led to Verichek’s rapid and steady growth, and the company keeps true to his core credence: “The most important part of any business is Customer Service.” In 2002 an alliance was initiated with Worldwide Analytical Systems, now Oxford Instruments, to promote sales of their OES spectrometers, and VTS, L. P. was formed as the sales side to Verichek. VTS, L. P. now offers sales of new and refurbished instruments manufactured by Oxford Instruments and RMG Technologies.

The past year has seen a substantial increase in Verichek’s dedicated, enthusiastic and highly trained staff and business, leading to a move to a new main office and warehouse in Bethel Park Industrial Park, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. This location, just south of Pittsburgh, is a great central location for our traveling service engineers and laboratory and classroom training sessions.

Verichek also has satellite offices around the mainland United States, with local regional sales managers and representatives covering all areas of North America.

Verichek’s full line of metal analyzers fills the needs of scrap and recycling companies, iron and steel foundries, metal manufacturers, aluminum foundries, power companies, nuclear power plants and all other Positive Metal Identification applications. Offering bench-top, floor-standing and hand-held optical emission spectrometers, Verichek also offers a variety of refurbished instruments.

Verichek’s service department is certified to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Quality System and provides its customers with periodic-maintenance (PM)/calibration services, emergency repairs, training, and instrument upgrade services. In addition, Verichek provides both on-site and in-house Positive Metal Identification (PMI), sorting grade-type as well as providing metal alloy analysis (including carbon.) Verichek employs a staff of qualified service engineers with over 150 years combined spectrometer experience.
