AL Gummi - High-Quality Industrial and Machine Tool Bellows
AL Gummi + Kunststofftechnik GmbH specializes in the intricate production of diverse, high-quality bellows suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Utilizing advanced manufacturing processes, the company fabricates bellows from materials like silicone and elastomers, selected to meet specific customer requirements in fields ranging from medical technology to construction machinery. These bellows are engineered using compression moulding for small to medium production runs, ensuring economic viability. The bellows function fundamentally as protective covers for moving components, safeguarding components like springs, shafts, and cylinders, and enhancing operational safety by minimizing accident risks. Features such as aeration elements and reinforcements are customized per application needs, for example, using CR, NBR, or EPDM rubbers to endure varying operational stresses. This dedication to detail ensures the bellows maintain structural integrity and designed flexibility, even under demanding conditions.
AL Gummi + Kunststofftechnik GmbH is a specialist in the production of technological and high quality bellows. We manufacture various types of bellows from different flexible materials such as silicone or rubber.
Bellows are often specially designed, sized and manufactured to meet the requirements of our customers. Thanks to our know-how and specialized manufacturing processes, we are able to produce high-quality bellows that can withstand even complex requirements.
Structure / Function
A bellows is a folded tube, similar to an accordion.
The bellows is often used to protect and seal moving parts such as springs, telescopic arms, shafts and cylinders.
In doing so, the functionality of your machine remains guaranteed while maintenance and repair costs can be reduced.
At the same time, bellows help to prevent operational accidents because it protects your employees from injuries, eg as a mesh or crush protection.
Bellows as molded article or pressed part
We manufacture the bellows using the compression molding process. In these processes we are able to manufacture bellows in many sizes and individual shapes.
Depending on the application, we use elastomer formulations with different degrees of hardness: very flexible or firm and dimensionally stable – your application decides.
Due to this process, we can produce bellows in small and medium quantities particularly economically.
Wrapped Bellows
The wrapped bellow is a flexible intermediate piece for pipes for conveying liquids, gases, suspensions or for creating a vacuum.
Depending on the application, we can advise you on the best design and the right materials.
Advantages of wound bellows from AL rubber
- Small to large bellows with a good aspect ratio can be realized
- Material selection (also food grade or antistatic) possible according to your requirements
- Economical production of single pieces and small series
- Large mandrel stock available, thus often no molding costs
- Various connection options can be produced – cuff/flange or both
- Vulcanized production without joining seams, thus absolutely airtight and watertight
- good pressure resistance due to textile inserts
Rubber disc bellows
The disc bellows is a high-quality, versatile bellows. Due to its shape and processing technology, it occupies a special position in the product group of bellows.
The disc bellows offers particular advantages in special applications where it is necessary to provide the greatest possible length compensation.
AL Gummi und Kunststofftechnik offers sewn disc bellows made of various rubberized or PU-coated polyester fabrics.
Special materials are available for unusual requirements (eg high-temperature applications).
Other features of a disc bellows are its smooth, precise cylindrical outer contour and a defined number of pleats. This makes it a sought after solution when design is also important.
Advantages of disc bellows
- Large LMAX, small LMIN
- variable diameters thanks to system tools
- particularly uniform and smooth outer contour
- Usually no molding costs
- Can be produced inexpensively in small quantities
- Free choice of connections: cuff/flange or both
- With aeration and deaeration on request
- Special materials are available for special applications
