Hioki - Model ST4030A -Pulse Winding Tester

The ST4030A is an impulse winding tester, or surge tester, that combines the functions of a resistance meter and insulation resistance testing required for manufacturers of electric motor windings to improve quality. Meeting the needs for more reliable motor windings in light of the increasing use of electric vehicles and autonomous driving technology.

How to use Hioki ST4030A Impulse Winding Tester
The ST4030A detects layer shorts between coil windings, defects found in motor inductors. By using a master waveform taken from a reference coil after applying a boost voltage, and comparing it to the waveform measured at a specific interval of the coil under test, the resulting difference in area can help determine if it passes. or fails with ease and precision.
